Polish citizenship is obtained by birth, adoption, marriage, descent, special merits, or naturalisation.
To obtain Polish citizenship by naturalisation, you must have permanently lived in the country for at least 10 years, receive a regular income, have your own or rented housing, know Polish at a minimum level of B1 and have no criminal record.
The spouse of a Polish citizen can obtain a passport by naturalisation after 2 years of permanent residence and cohabitation in marriage for at least 3 years. They will need to pass the Polish language proficiency test.
